Official Synopsis[]

K.O., Rad, and Enid are caught in an especially devious trap.[1]

Plot[]

K.O., Rad, and Enid hunts down Darrell at Boxmore for stealing the doors from Gar's Hero Supply & Bodega. After the Bodegamen chases Darrell in Boxmore, he traps them by making them pass out in a smoke field.

K.O., Rad, and Enid wakes up to find themselves trapped in an isolated room with no way out. They all attempt to find a way out including Rad punching the wall, Enid stomping the floors, and K.O. talking to the walls. Enid and Rad attempts to ram the walls but gets knocked out. Rad and Enid uses their power moves but it ends up hitting each other. Once the Bodegamen gives up finding a way out, they make their best of their situation by entertaining themselves using their imaginations.

Enid and Rad plays K.O. kicky-ball. K.O. does comedy by impersonating Crinkly Wrinkly and Mr. Gar. They all go to sleep. Enid serves fake dinner to K.O. They all watch the roof as if it were clouds. After Enid counts the minutes they are stuck, she gets bored. As their last attempt, the Bodegamen performs a séance for an escape. Enid steps on a tile and she is offered to exit first. Then, a laser ray turns her into goo.

K.O. and Rad in shock, believes Enid died. K.O. steps on another tile that activates laser rays to zap Rad frozen. With a slight touch, K.O. breaks the ice making Rad melt into goo. K.O.'s ear-splitting scream spreads through a room, where the Boxmore bots host a dance party. Darrell tells Ernesto to raise the volume of the music. K.O. leans to the goo wondering why Rad turned into goo. He sees a drain as a way to escape. He slides into the drain and exits from a pool of goo and the room where it comes from.

The Bodegamen meets each other to see themselves not dead. They realize that someone simulated the same nightmare separately where one of them is alive and the other two turned into goo. Initially, Enid and Rad believed Lord Boxman created the simulations. K.O. realizes it was Professor Venomous. Professor Venomous informs the Bodegamen that he extracted DNA of them from their previous battles to create goo clones of them to mentally torment them.

K.O. begins to attack Professor Venomous. Professor Venomous throws a beaker at Enid and Rad, revealing that they were goo clones. Enid and Rad comes through the vents making K.O. reassured that they are not dead. Enid and Rad battles Professor Venomous. After Professor Venomous gets a migraine, he ejects the Bodegamen out from the office. The Bodgeamen are thrown back to the parking lot of Lakewood Plaza Turbo. K.O. announces that he hates Professor Venomous and the rest of the Bodegamen declares they have to take him seriously. Rad and Enid runs away from K.O. after he pelts them with rocks to make sure they are not goo clones.

Trivia[]

Production Notes[]

  • Ian Jones-Quartey revealed on Twitter that the Cartoon Network Standards & Practices was not thrilled with this episode's concept so to make the episode approved by them, the episode had to avoid saying the word "die/died/dead" to get a pass. It was also revealed that CN S&P really despise that word.
    • However, in "Deep Space Vacation", Rad said "I'll never die" which got left in because Ian had fought and took much energy to get it in.[2]

Continuity[]

  • This episode takes place after "Rad's Alien Sickness" to solidify K.O.'s opinion on how evil Professor Venomous was and it was set up for "Big Reveal".
  • Darrell uses his tentacle arms to attack again from "All in the Villainy".
  • Ernesto is seen wearing his DJ outfit from "I Am Jethro" when the robots are having a dance party.
  • One of the squirrels is seen eating a chili dog while exiting from the Bodega as chili dogs were mentioned back from "Be a Team" and "Let's Meet Sonic".

Cultural References[]

  • According to Ian Jones-Quartey, the film Cube and the episode "There's No Place like Springfield" from the series G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero served as an inspiration for this episode.[3]
  • The episode title is a homage of the film, The Parent Trap.
  • In one of the side rooms of Boxmore, some creatures resembling Metroids, from the game of the same name, can be seen floating in a tube.
  • When Professor Venomous tell his plan about the goo clones, he is playing Solitaire on his computer.
